32 mm Boring Unit

Boring Unit specific commands:

  • M38 Lowers the drill bank into place and turns on the drill motor.
  • G98 P300 D(Drill #) engages the individual drills into place.
    • Examples:

      G98 P300 D31 would engage drills 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. (1+2+4+8+16)

      G98 P300 D336 would engage drills 5, 7, and 9. (16+64+256)

  • M48 Retract Drill Bank, Retract all engaged drills, and turn off Drill Motor.
Boring Unit General
  • The MultiCam controller takes care of the X and Y offset from the spindle to Drill 1. If the spindle is used to drill a hole at X = 0 and the Y = 0 then an M38, G98 P300 D1 is called, the #1 drill will be ready to drill a hole at the same location.
  • M38 should be called only once and not called again until a M48 is called.
