HYPERTHERM LICENSES TRUE HOLE TECHNOLOGY TO MULTICAM
Dallas, Texas - June 28, 2010
MultiCam Inc. offers plasma systems that are capable of holding actual machining tolerances of ± .010”. Cutting smaller diameters, which can be a tricky prospect for most plasma systems, is easily accomplished using a MultiCam Plasma because of the rigid platform, machined and captured control surfaces, and advanced motion control.
Hypertherm’s XD “True Hole” technology O2 mild steel process, along with the MultiCam motion controller allows accurate holes with ratios from 1:1 to 1:2.5 in relation to material thickness up to 1.00” that do not deviate more than +/- .006” - .013” from top to bottom, depending on consumable condition. This constitutes “fine” to “coarse” machining tolerances. MultiCam’s already superior hole quality is enhanced by the incorporation of True Hole technology.
The EZ G Code software standard in all MultiCam CNC machines operates effectively with the system requirements for True Hole technology and allows customers to continue using their existing CAD/CAM software such as MasterCam, ShopData, Enroute Fab, BobCad, etc. While fully compatible with the MultiCam system, Hypertherm’s MTC software is also available, though not a system requirement. The proven reliability of MultiCam’s standard plasma systems, Z axis standoff tracking plus True Hole provides customers with a machine that produces high quality holes as well as outstanding contours.
